A Study of Li-fragments from 28GeV Proton Intreaction in Nuclear Emulsion

Abstract

|
|
This paper is a preliminary report on the Li-fragment emitted in nuclear interactions caused by 28 GeV protons in nuclear emulsion. The data was collected from a stack of(2×3) inch Ilford G-5 nuclear emulsion irradiated by the 28 GeV proton beam at Brookhaven. The method of widthmeasurement was used for determination of the track-charge and identification of the Li-fragment. The analysis of 128 stable Li-fragments was in agreement with the theoretical result based on the evaporation theory in the region below 60 GeV.
